Heading is recruiting for its client, an oil and gas company, a Operations Environment Coordinator (M/F) to be based in Maputo
Main Responsibilities:
- Support development and implementation of environmental monitoring plans and procedures.
- Review and recommend improvements in contractors’ environmental documents.
- Coordinates environmental contractor selection and onboarding process.
- Interfaces with C&P and Finance to ensure contractual planning, bidding and selection, including placement of purchase requests, payment of invoices, etc.
- Develop and implement contractor environmental performance reporting tools (daily, weekly and monthly).
- Supports corporate environmental reporting.
- Coordinate waste management to ensure compliance with Company waste management plan, relevant documents from group environmental referential, Mozambique regulations and international standards applicable to the Project.
- Prepare and implement audits on contractors and waste management facilities.
- Prepare waste management reporting data.
- Investigate and propose waste avoidance/reduction initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience required:
- Minimum postgraduate degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology or any closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience required
- Experience in Environmental Management in Oil & gas industry a plus
- Good working knowledge of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and other good international industry practice as well as implementation of such
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations and with cross-discipline professionals
- Ability to develop and implement sustainable processes
- Fluency in Portuguese and strong working knowledge of English, with the ability to write professionally in both languages
- Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
