We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to lead community engagement for one of the largest energy projects in the country. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on local communities and promote transparent and respectful communication with all stakeholders.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and support teams of Community and Village Liaison Officers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, district authorities, and civil society organizations.
- Ensure effective and timely communication of project information.
- Implement engagement plans and community grievance response mechanisms.
- Monitor community perceptions, resolve conflicts, and ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups.
- Coordinate with internal teams (construction, security, logistics) and project partners to align engagement efforts.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of experience in complex environments, preferably in community engagement or development projects.
- University degree in Social Sciences, Law, Sustainability, or related fields.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in stakeholder communication and team management.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English; knowledge of local languages (Kimwane, Makonde, Swahili, or Makua) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, planning, and report-writing skills.
