5580 - Operations Coordinator (M/F) - Maputo


Heading is recruiting for its client, an Operations Coordinator  (M/F) to be based in Maputo . 


Main Responsabilities :

-  The operations Coordinator will lead and supervise the efforts of driver’s team, assigning drivers to specific routs and transfers, ensuring a safe, efficient and cost-conscious fleet management operation which encompasses execution of transfer service delivery, team management, handle customers complains, drivers training and reporting and will report to the Operations Supervisor

- Ensure that operators of vehicles in the fleet receive proper instruction and refresher training needed to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to or misuse of vehicles and equipment comprising the fleet.

- Report and assist HSE team with incident investigations as per HSE best practices – identifying root causes and corrective actions.

- Cultivate and foster a team environment, assisting with establishment of team and individual performance goals aligned with company goals, monitor progress toward the completion of these goals and bridge performance gaps in a timely manner, as to promote excellent workforce productivity and achievement of Company's goals and objectives.

- Build positive internal and external customer relationships.

- Manage drivers and assign day to day transport operations and transfers.

- Monitor IVMS system alerts, providing reports of driver/vehicle non-compliance events, as well as reporting system irregularities.

- Monitor and validates continual improvements and associated service levels.

- Ensure implementation day-to-day activities of transportation.

- Supervise workloads, schedule, tasks and other related functions.

- Maintain and manage all databases relating to transportation activities.

- Ensure compliance of safety standards in transportation functions.

- Handle loading and unloading operations.

- Initiate cost efficiency measures in transportation operations.

- Implement environmental laws, procedures and processes.

- Build internal and external customer relationships

- Ensure washing, cleaning, care, refuelling of project vehicle/s is carried out.

- Liaise with Services HSE Department to ensure agreed upon HSE best practices are complied with.

- Assist with risk assessments as needed.

- Ensure agreed upon corrective actions are completed.

- Ensure performance expectations are communicated and completed.


Required Education/Experience: 

- Higher education is an advantage

- Ability to lead and supervise

- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

- Ability to work well under pressure

- Flexible and co-operative approach to work: willingness to work as a team member – prepared to work to tight deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally.

- Administrative excellence with a high attention to detail.

- Ability to maintain clear and concise records, filing and effective monitoring systems

- Excellent computer literacy

- Well-developed numerical and analytical skills.

- Ability to manage time effectively and see tasks & projects through to completion.

- Experience in the transportation field, with a competent working knowledge of Mozambique Geography an advantage

- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles
